Matt French General Manager, Marina Operations
Matt started at the Marina over a decade ago, driving the water taxi, pumping gas, and assisting Andy in the formation of our Sales Department as seen today. After graduating from Dalhousie University in 2006, Matt started as Desmasdon's full time, assuming the responsibilities required in the Sales Department. In 2007, Matt was promoted to Desmasdon's Director of Sales and Marketing and has grown the sales department in a steady, constant manner each year. In 2016 Matt was moved into an overall operational management position as the General Manager of Marina Operations. As such, Matt shares duties with Andy and Tonia on operational duties and decisions while still running the sales department. Matt takes great pride in looking after customers to the best of his ability and always offers guidance on what he feels is the right boat for their use. He has used his love of boats from a young age to benefit his customers. When not at work, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Nicole, their two daughters, and his golden doodle, Sophie. Matt and Nicole share an immense passion for Georgian Bay and all it has to offer. While Matt and Nicole grew up as Pointe au Baril cottagers, they have chosen to make Pointe au Baril a year-round home to raise their children, embracing the Georgian Bay way of life. Matt enjoys spending time at the family island and traveling. Matt also enjoys hockey and snowmobiling, as well as spending quality time with family and friends. Matt is also active in many community projects.

Tonia Blenkarn Owner, Sales coordinator
Tonia and her husband Andy bought Desmasdon's together in 1998. Since that time they have seen each other's roles expand and change quite a bit. At Desmasdon's we joke internally that along with being a coworker, Tonia is also the Director of IT, HR, Creative Solutions, and the Director of Fun! Before the marina, Tonia was very involved in politics and was devoted to starting a family. Together, Tonia and Andy have two boys, Mike and Chris, both of whom have active roles at the marina throughout the seasons. Tonia's passion is to help people become their best! She has been fortunate to participate in a number of leadership development courses, as well as marina management opportunities through our manufacturers, Yamaha and NMMA. When not working, Tonia loves running and cycling, kayaking, picnicking, and swimming at the shoals. She is passionate about her church community and serves with children, youth and leadership development teams. Tonia also loves to listen to Andy play guitar around the campfire, enjoys cross-country skiing with friends on the beautiful trails at Georgian Nordic, and scuba diving with family. Tonia and Andy are a family of foodies, constantly trying new and interesting things. Tonia often says that what she likes best about working at Desmasdon's are all the great people that have become part of her life; staff and customers alike.

Tom Lundy Delivery Captain
Tom joined us in 2015 from a life long career in food services. Tom was an avid power boater who turned Pointe au Bail cottager. After his decision to retire from his life in the city, Tom and his wife Jan moved to their cottage and built a gorgeous new home. We are thrilled to have Tom on our team. His extreme attention to detail make him an important asset when it comes to new and used boat delivery. Tom also assists in sales role at various shows or throughout the summer when needed. Outside of work, you'll see Papa Tom with his kids and grandkids enjoying a day on his pontoon boat or PWC. Tom is also a local Township of the Archipelago Councillor.

Mike Blenkarn Sales Assistant
Mike has been at the marina since before he can remember. He is the eldest of Andy and Tonia's sons and has literally worked at the marina since he could walk. Today, Mike is an engineering student who spends his summer's assisting Matt in various sales roles. Mike will often be on the water on test drives or on the road delivering new boats. His knowledge of the marina business make him a huge asset. Having grown up on Georgian Bay, Mike is a very experienced boater. His knowledge of boats make him a great consultant when trying to decide the right boat for you. When not at the marina, Mike studies Mechanical Engineering, plays university rugby and is always up for an adventure with friends and family.
